HellFire is a card combat game unlike the dozens of others out there, and what makes the difference is a simple flick. You'll collect cards and build your roster of fighting creatures as normal, but once engaged in an actual battle, you must flick a ball of energy toward your opponent to do damage. There are different kinds of energy at play, and it's important to know how they differ, because creatures carry affinities that you can exploit by using the right energy against them. There's also a social component that allows "wanderers" to help out randomly during battle; these wanderers are other human players, but they don't have an active role in the battle.
